1ShoppingCart.com is increasing their rates starting December 1st (that's this Saturday). Although I don't agree with the huge increase and the short notice that was given to their clients, there aren't too many choices out there. So how can you make your shopping cart more affordable? There are a few options, but I'd like to turn your attention to a simple thing you can do, by Friday, to save up to $389. You see, the current prices are still available until Friday and if you purchase a year ahead of time you get 2 months free. For example, the Pro Package is $79 per month or $799 for a year. As of December 1st the price increase to $99 per month or $999 for the year. So if you purchase a year's worth before the price goes up you will save $389 (if you continued to pay monthly). I know it's an investment for now but it will workout in the long run. Because 1ShoppingCart is American you can take advantage of the low US dollar and get a further discount if you live outside of the United States.
How to do it:
1. Log into your shopping cart.
2. Locate "My Account" in the menu bar and choose
"Renew/Upgrade"

3. Under "Select a Service or Third Party Integration" locate "package" and choose the "annual package" such as "Professional Annual $799"

There you go, you are all set.
Day 5 and I'm tired. I am a bit "membershipped out" and decided to put that aside for a few days. Instead I began working on a new product "The WordPress Guide for Coaches". This guide will help Coaches set up their WordPress blogsite and maintain their blogsites on their own. It will help Coaches keep their costs low and give them the confidence to work in WordPress.
Today was a stressful day. You see the "geek" in me came out to play and when I couldn't figure out some programming code my ego started to deflate and I wasn't going to go down without a fight. :) I spent some time working on that and soon learned that I should take my own advice and hire the professionals to fix it. For $50 they will be fixing the problem. My time is worth more than that $50.
I decided not to launch the Help Desk For Coaches until the new year. My current timeline was not very realistic and I'd like to have a few current clients login and provide their feedback before we open the doors.
I also began planning my upcoming products and due dates. My main priorities are:
- getting the membership site ready
- renovating my main website www.techcoachforcoaches.com
- finishing up my freebie "The Technology Dictionary for the Non-Geek" (there are over 70 definitions already!
What are your top priorities for your business?
Today I began integrating two parts of the upcoming membership site "help desk for coaches". That is the product that manages the user accounts and logins and the product that allows us to have a discussion forum. I do not want members to log into both products when they come onto the site, so I am trying to make it so that 1 login is enough...but it's not working out just yet. I know from my programming days that is more productive to walk away from a problem like this one then to bang your head on the keyboard for days. I'll figure it out tomorrow or the next day :)
When I put that problem aside I began writing the sales page for "help desk for coaches". I can't wait to show it off because the main graphic for the page will make you laugh your head off. Stay posted to see the page when it's ready!
What would you like to see in the upcoming membership site "Help Desk For Coaches"?
Today during "week of products" I started the day writing my newsletter. Actually I slept in a little. With the crazy weather here in Toronto going up to 25oC and down to 8oC and back up to 22oC and down again, my body was starting to react. Sleeping in felt good.
I then spent the afternoon and early evening customizing the upcoming "help desk for coaches" site. This is the membership site where coaches will be able to post any technical question they have and attend a couple of teleclasses a month. There were a few technical problems I had to deal with and I got stuck in "perfection paralysis" as I tried to make it look cosmetically pleasing.
I spoke with my VA and gave her a list of things to get ready for the membership site. It's so good to load off some work to someone else so I can concentrate on other things.
It's been a while since my last "week of products". This is the week that I do not take any client calls or take any client work in order to focus on my own business and complete the projects that have been sitting in my brain for too long!
I started the day working on my new freebie for our newsletter. The freebie is called "The Technology Dictionary for the Non-Geek". There will be over 70 definitions of technology words that Coaches come across but the definitions are in plain English (how refreshing). All those who subscribe to our newsletter will receive it. Subscribe at www.TechCoachForCoaches.com
By the afternoon I moved onto my membership site. We currently have a membership site but we are moving it to a new website and calling it "Help Desk for Coaches". There is a lot of work involved and I hope to get it all done this week!
My goals for the rest of the "week of products":
Do you have a question you need to ask the world or just your target market? There are two great websites which allow users to post questions, answer questions and connect. They are:
Yahoo! Answers: http://answers.yahoo.com
Askville by Amazon: http://askville.com
What can you ask? Anything really, but here are some sample questions that I think are applicable to Coaches:
"What was your first job out of school and how was it related to what your area of study?"
"What is the most powerful but under-appreciated way we can shape the future?"
"Life coach running or "ruining" life?"
"Business Coach - would you use one?"
Jennifer Koretsky of ADDManagement.com has put out her new book. Congratulations Jen!
It was about a year ago when Jen mentioned she was thinking of writing a book. I cheered her on. Last spring she put her words into action and onto paper! Her book "Odd One Out: The Mavericks Guide to Adult ADD" helps adults with add who struggle to fit into a world that doesn't always fit them.
Read this book and you'll learn, how to:

A generous offer from Rey Carr of www.peer.ca
If you have a newsletter about coaching that you'd like to have listed on their website as available to coaches or the general public, all you need to do is send Rey the following information:
1. The name or title of the
newsletter or publication
2. A very brief description of typical
content
3. A short statement about a unique aspect of your newsletter (if
appropriate)
4. The frequency of publication (monthly, weekly, occasionally,
etc)
5. The subscription method and address (URL or email)
After their
web team reviews the details, they'll add it to their list of coaching
newsletters at http://www.peer.
There is no fee or charge for this service. Their web team will often select particular newsletters as "Featured" and will then include information about the newsletter in their own monthly publication. Typically, newsletters on their site are listed in alphabetical order, except for those that are "featured," which are placed at the top of the list for a period of time.
Pretty fabulous!
